About Me

Blessings to You. I’m Tammy.
I’m the woman behind The Struggling Christian. I’m not a millionaire, and I don’t have an incredible story about building an empire. I’m a 56-year-old woman working a full-time, physically demanding job, navigating financial struggles, and learning every day what it means to walk by faith and not by sight.
I’ve made mistakes. I’ve fallen. I’ve gotten back up. And believe me, I’ve questioned God more times than I can count.
You know that saying, “When it rains, it pours”? Apparently, whoever came up with it never met ME!
I get FLASH FLOODS! TSUNAMIS! HURRICANES! I don’t get a little drizzle. I get the whole freaking WEATHER CHANNEL! 🤣
How do you get a tsunami in western Nebraska, where I was raised? Well, apparently, with God, ALL things are possible!
“…with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 (KJV)
Sometimes I look up and say, “Lord, seriously? Can I get a little sunshine? Maybe a nice breeze? I’ll even settle for partly cloudy!”
But after 56 years of storms, I’m still standing. Still fighting. And most importantly, still holding on to Jesus Christ.
How I Found My Way to Jesus
My story includes childhood abuse, addiction, broken relationships, and more setbacks than I care to count. I grew up in a religious cult environment that left me with questions. I loved God, but I didn’t understand how to find the relationship with Him I was searching for.
Along the way, I became a mother to two wonderful children. I went through divorce and rehab. After getting clean and sober, I became a welder, attended commercial diving school, and worked in underwater construction. I remarried, but there was still brokenness I hadn’t dealt with.
In September 2019, during a painful season in my marriage, I reached a breaking point. I hadn’t returned to drugs, but emotionally, I was falling apart. One Wednesday, I cried so much that I fainted at work.
That evening, still crying, I looked out my window at the little church across the street. I knew I needed God. I just didn’t know where to begin.
As I looked at that little church, I heard, “Go. Just go.”
But I hesitated. I wasn’t sure. I stood there thinking, “No. I’m not going.”
Then I heard it again, this time loud and clear: “GO!” It wasn’t a suggestion anymore. It was a command I could not ignore.
So I went.
A woman was cleaning the church. I broke down in front of this stranger, and she invited me to come that Sunday. I didn’t think twice.
I arrived with my hair hanging down and a hat covering my face. I had a roof over my head, but inside, I felt homeless. I needed God’s home. That little church family welcomed me with love, and I kept coming back.
The pastor, Brother Dean, talked about how he wakes up every morning saying, “Good morning, Jesus. I love You, Jesus.”
I began doing the same. I began reading His Word in the morning and before bed. Little by little, I felt Him changing the way I thought and healing the brokenness I had carried for so long.
In October 2019, I gave my life to Jesus. I experienced what I describe as being baptized in His Holy Spirit. Then, on November 10, 2019, I was baptized.
From the moment I left my house to go be baptized until long after my baptism, I couldn’t stop crying. I was overwhelmed that someone could love me this much, after everything I had been through and everything I had done.
I was a mess…lol. But in the middle of all those tears, I was discovering what it felt like to be loved by Jesus. For the first time in a long time, I loved my life.
That didn’t mean every struggle disappeared. It meant I no longer had to face them without Him.
How the Clothing Began
I wanted to honor Jesus and serve Him. I kept asking, “How?”
I’ve always had quirky sayings, sometimes funny ones. But in February 2020, one stayed with me:
“God Will Let You Fall, Until You Let HIM Have It ALL.”
I shared it, but I didn’t yet know what else to do with it. Then, during a conversation on social media, I said:
“God doesn’t tell you to put on the armor of God to bake a cake.”
A woman loved it and told me that if I ever put it on a T-shirt, she wanted pink and purple. That little conversation helped spark this business.
You may also see the name LADAITT in my logo. It stands for “Life And Death Are In The Tongue,” inspired by Proverbs 18:21, a scripture close to my heart. It reminds me that our words matter.
As my faith grew, my husband began attending church too. I have seen God at work in our marriage, bringing glimpses of restoration. But I want to be honest: we are still separated, and this part of my story is still unfolding. My testimony isn’t that everything is fixed or that I have figured it all out. It’s that Jesus continues to meet me in the middle of the mess.
To everyone reading this, I ask that you please keep my husband in your prayers. Pray that he feels the love and presence of Jesus, and that God brings healing, peace, and guidance to his life. Thank you for lifting him up in prayer. It means more to me than you know.
Why The Struggling Christian?
These designs aren’t just images on a T-shirt. They come from my own life: the heartaches, the moments I’ve felt completely alone, the times I’ve broken down and cried out to God because I didn’t know what else to do.
They’re pieces of my story, put into words and pictures when I couldn’t always explain what I was feeling.
That’s why this is The Struggling Christian. Not because I’ve stopped believing, but because I’m still holding on to Jesus in the middle of the struggle.
And if you recognize part of your own story in these designs, I hope they help you feel a little less alone. Not because our lives are exactly the same, but because someone else knows what it’s like to hurt, to wrestle with faith, and to keep reaching for God.
Because being a Christian doesn’t mean life suddenly becomes easy. It means learning to trust Jesus when life feels like one disaster after another.
I still get frustrated. I still cry. I’m still learning patience, financial stewardship, and how to stop trying to control everything. Sometimes I surrender the same worry to God over and over again.
I’m not presenting myself as someone who has figured it all out. I’m inviting you to walk alongside someone who is still figuring it out with Jesus.
I also share my journey as The Real Struggling Christian on YouTube and TikTok, openly, honestly, and sometimes with a whole lot of humor. Because sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying!
A Dream Bigger Than Clothing
Out of this journey grew a dream: Yahweh’s House. A future place where veterans can find support and belonging, animals receive care, food is grown, and people experience the love of Jesus Christ.
It isn’t built yet. I’m beginning with faith, prayer, hard work, and this little clothing business. You can see the bigger dream and what I’m working toward on our Our Vision page.
You’re Invited to Witness the Journey
When you purchase from The Struggling Christian, you help me build this business and take practical steps toward that larger vision. My long-term goal is a financially sustainable mission that can direct the overwhelming majority of the money available after business expenses toward serving veterans, caring for animals, growing food, and helping others.
I’m not there yet, and I won’t pretend I am. I can’t promise a completion date or tell you exactly how every piece will come together.
What I can promise is honesty about the struggles, setbacks, lessons, and victories along the way.
If purchasing something isn’t possible right now, you can still be part of this journey. Sharing the website, telling someone about the vision, and praying for this mission all matter.
If you feel led to give financially toward the vision or explore a partnership, please reach out. Whether you have resources, skills, or time to offer, I’d love to hear from you. Every step of support helps us move toward what Yahweh’s House could become.
“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 (KJV)
I’m planting the seeds. I’m doing the work. I’m trusting God for the increase.
This isn’t just about what I hope to build. It’s about the lives I hope to touch along the way.
Thank you for being here. And thank You, Jesus, for giving me another day to keep going.
The Struggling Christian
Not AFTER the breakthrough. Watch it happen.
